Practical visit notes
Plan the day before the village
Winding access roads, few services and dry-stone lanes shape any visit. These notes set realistic expectations for a small, active mountain village.

Before you set out
Four checks before the day
01
Road navigation
Mountain access roads are winding. Use a downloaded offline map, drive in daylight and allow extra time for the bends.
02
Water and supplies
Village amenities remain minimal. Carry your own water and food, and plan the day around what you bring with you.
03
Footwear
Stone lanes and rocky tracks are uneven and sometimes slippery. Choose closed walking shoes with good grip.
04
Weather check
Check the forecast on the day of your visit. Mountain light changes quickly, so keep a layer in your bag.
On site etiquette
Respect the village as a home
Bézaudun-les-Alpes is a living village. Residential alleys are private spaces for the people who live there, so keep voices low, and leave gates, courtyards and private properties untouched. Park outside the medieval gates, where space allows, and walk in. Stay on marked paths and avoid climbing or leaning on dry-stone walls, which are fragile and costly to repair.
Quiet hours are a courtesy rather than a rule you will find posted at every corner. Notice the people around you, and leave the lanes as you found them.
