Walks from the village
Trails from the village to the ridges
Waymarked paths start at the village fountain squares and climb to open limestone crests. Each route is described here with its elevation, surface, and the landmarks you pass along the way.

Ridge lines
Crest ridge paths
Open limestone ridges give wide views over the valley. The exposed sections are sunny and windy, so expect little shade and plan your water.
Chapel paths
Paths to the chapels
Short routes link the village with its chapels and older sacred sites. Paths are stony in places, so good grip matters more than distance.

Woodland loops
Shaded woodland loops
Oak and pine loops offer cooler walking in summer. Several crossings meet the old mule tracks that once linked this village with neighboring river valleys.
Before you set out
Weather, sun, and trail etiquette
Mountain weather changes quickly, and afternoon heat reflects hard off limestone terraces. Start early in warm months, carry more water than you think you need, and check conditions before leaving the village.
Footpaths here can be loose underfoot and steep on descents, so sturdy closed shoes with good grip are essential. Keep to marked routes, close gates behind you, and leave farm tracks and terraces undisturbed.
